Frost's Descent starts today (October 23).
Frost's Descent (Chinese: 霜降) is the 18th solar term of the year and the last solar term in autumn. It falls on October 23 or 24 each year when the sun reaches the celestial longitude of 210 degrees. During Frost's Descent period, the temperature difference between day and night becomes large.
In most parts of China, it starts to get cold when Frost's Descent comes. Usually, around this time of year, the summer heat is still hovering in Guangzhou. This year we have finally felt some autumn chill. The weather gets cold, but love and care continue to keep us warm.
