Spring Equinox | Explore 24 solar terms along the Tropic of Cancer

Today (March 20) marks "Chunfen" this year. Chunfen, which means Spring Equinox (Chinese: 春分), is the fourth term of the year and will end on April 5 this year.

The Spring Equinox signals the equal length of the day and night time. On the day of the Spring Equinox, sun is directly above the equator. After the equinox, the sun moves northwards, resulting in gradually longer day times in the Northern Hemisphere and longer nights in the Southern Hemisphere.

This day heralds a warm season, with gentle winds and ample sunshine. Around the time of the Spring Equinox, farming activities are in full swing across the country. It's also good time for spring outing, going outside and getting closer to nature.

One of the most popular activities for spring outing is camping in tents. People nowadays take camping as an important way to keep a balance between city life and embracing nature. In addition to appreciating the natural beauty of lakes and mountains, we can create our own space by setting up a tent, a campfire and even a barbecue, enjoying being in nature and spending time with ourselves.
