From now till August, you are invited to enjoy a symphonic music excursion on the Pearl River as you cruise the most beautiful waterway in the city.
The symphonic music theme cruise—"Pearl River Prince" cruise ship (珠江王子号)—is co-launched by the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO) and the Guangzhou Chenggang Tourism & Development Co., Ltd. (Chenggang Tourism), aiming to offer visitors an exclusive landmark journey.

On June 28-30, three ensembles of GSO successively got on the "Pearl River Prince" cruise ship at the Canton Tower Fortune Pier, and staged nine live music salons for the passengers. More concerts will be presented on board in July and August. Please stay tuned to GDToday for more updates.
In addition to live performances, the vessels will also play live recordings of concerts accredited by GSO as background music, and play concert videos on the big screens both inside and outside the hull.

The music works include orchestral Water Music by German-British Baroque composer George Frideric Handel, Symphony No. 41 in C major by Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Cantonese Music Suite by Ye Xiaogang, chairman of the China Musicians Association, Metropolis by Grammy-nominated composer Zhou Tian, Cantonese Music The Past of Shawan by composer Du Ming, and The "China 1921" Symphonic Fantasia for Orchestra by famous Guangdong composer Li Haiying.
In the future, GSO and Chenggang Tourism will custom-make different music-themed cruises to offer a dazzling array of musical enjoyment on the Pearl River.
In recent years, GSO has worked with many cultural and tourism landmarks in Guangzhou, such as the "music terminal" in Baiyun Airport, the background music in Canton Tower, Haixin Bridge, Mountain Villa, and parks across the city.
