Guangzhou's Yuexiu Park brims with classical music

On 16 February, the melodies of classical music resonated in front of the Five Rams Sculpture and at the Zhenhai Tower (Guangzhou Museum) in Guangzhou's Yuexiu Park.

This was an outreach activity of the 7th session of the "Youth Music Culture the Greater Bay Area (YMCG)". Young musicians from several music conservatories in Guangdong, Shanghai, Sichuan, and Hubei performed classical masterpieces by musicians such as Karl & L. King, Felix Mendelssohn, and Franz Joseph Haydn.

With different forms of repertory groups and compositions, they endeavoured to integrate Western classical masterpieces into Guangzhou's landmarks and historical buildings. Through this, audiences were able to experience the exchange between Chinese and Western cultures.

Such outreach activities have been a regular feature of the YMCG these years. It aims to take music out of the concert hall, into the city, and closer to the public.
