Tang Yin, a Ph.D. graduate from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, will have a solo exhibition at the Guangdong Museum of Art, presenting his paintings on natural sceneries and flowers.

The artist excels in drawing scenery painting and he draws inspiration from his observations and feelings about the circle of life and the change of seasons. Tang tries to create a "distance" between the scenery and the people in his paintings. Humans will rarely be seen in his paintings, only the scenic objects such as rocks emerging in the sea, a lonely light house, and water lilies in the pond.

The artist was nurtured by two traditions—Eastern art and Western art, and both sources coexist on his canvas where people can find the Eastern spirit contained in the Western form. He grasps the spirit of water lily paintings and approaches it with a quasi-expressionism touch.
