Shantou-Shanwei High-speed Railway starts trial operation

On November 25, the high-speed train G55302 departed from Shanwei Railway Station to Shantou South Railway Station, marking the start of the trial operation of the south section of the Shantou-Shanwei High-speed Railway.

Spanning 143 kilometers, the south section includes an undersea tunnel at the Shantou Bay, which is under construction in an orderly manner.

Since the beginning of late October, the joint commissioning and testing of the section has been completed. Now, the countdown has begun for the whole line.

Starting from Shantou Railway Station, the Shantou-Shanwei High-speed Railway passes through three cities ( Shantou, Jieyang, and Shanwei) and eight counties and districts.

With a total length of 162 kilometers and a design speed of 350 km/h, the high-speed line has seven stations, including five newly-built ones (Shantou South Railway Station, Chaonan Railway Station, Huilai Railway Station, Lufeng East Railway Station and Lufeng South Railway Station) and two existing ones (Shantou Railway Station and Shanwei Railway Station).
