[Week 16] Shenzhen 3D Print TECH Complete Shoulder Transplant

The Second People's Hospital of Shenzhen successfully applied 3D Print technology to accomplish South China's first shoulder transplant surgery, the Nanfang Daily reported.

The patient surnamed Li, is a 27-year-old lady from Jieyang, Chaoshan in Guangdong. Although Li had already lost 75 percent of her shoulder blade from a tumor, Second People's Hospital of Shenzhen doctors decided to make a Ti-alloy prosthesis which was successfully transplanted.

The hospital's Deputy Director of Bone Tumor Department Tan Jifeng said that the surgery cost RMB 100,000. Tan said that Ms. Li is in good condition and will be fully recovered in six months.
