The third APC (Asian Paralympic Committee) Executive Board Conference, sponsored by the APC and hosted by the Guangzhou Municipality, runs from November 2nd to 9th. Approximately 30 officials are expected to attend the conference including the President, the Deputy President, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the APC and representatives from five regions in Asia.

The Executive Board of the APC traditionally holds an annual working conference in the host city of Asian Paralympics, according to its rules and regulations. This conference focuses on issues such as the signing of the contract for hosting the Games, making of general chapters for the Games and on the layout of the planned sports events. Meanwhile, the Guangzhou Organizing Committee will introduce the APC to its preparatory work for the 2010 Asian Paralympics and the Executive Board members will inspect the construction of the training and sports venues as well as barrier-free facilities for the Games that are to be located in the Guangdong Olympic Stadium, the Tianhe Sports Center, the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center and the Asian Games City.

The Guangzhou Municipality has assigned great importance to the preparatory work for the 2010 Asian Paralympics. Since this April, when the Central Government and the State Council issued Opinions on Promoting Development for the Disabled which focuses on hosting the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and the 2010 Asian Paralympics, Guangzhou has sent delegations to Beijing to learn for the experience of the Beijing Organizing Committee in hosting Paralympics. Guangzhou will make decisions on issues regarding training and sports venues and improve both the environment and facilities for the disabled. As a result of these efforts, the 2010 Asian Paralympics are expected to be as successful as the 2010 Asian Games.
