On December 2nd, 2007, the "New Asian Games with Me", a themed activity on public education of Asian Games sponsored by the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee, was held on Baiyun Mountain. A large display tagged with smiling faces attracted a large number of citizens queuing up for the working staff to take a picture of their smiles. The pictures with smiling faces were then attached to the display. Many citizens even signed their names alongside the pictures.
The person in charge of the activity said, "We will take 2010 smiles of the citizens with digital cameras and attach them to a special display to show that the Guangzhou citizens stand ready to welcome the 2010 Asian Games with good manners". The pictures are available on the site and every citizen with his or her smile taken can get a smiling souvenir. Within one hour, more than 200 smiles were already attached to the display.
There were also Learning & Imitation Sections for the sentence "Guangzhou Welcomes You" in Japanese, Thai, Korean, other Asian languages and English in addition to those in Mandarin and Cantonese. Through the audio played on site, the citizens could learn different Asian language versions of "Guangzhou Welcomes You" with ease.
The Activity reserved two programs of the Asian Games Publicity Exhibition and the Asian Games Experience Project. The citizens could also see on site the introduction of Asian Media Tour of the Guangzhou Asian Games, the introduction of Education for All Series on the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and the introduction of the Asian Games Tribune. There were also displays describing the 42 competing events of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.
A series of promotion activities themed with "New Asian Games with Me" will be held at the Guangzhou Grandview Plaza and Shangxiajiu Square respectively on December 8th and 15th.
