The 1st Session of Lectures of Sino-Europe Economic Cooperation has been launched in Foshan on 28th. Wu Ken, the deputy secretary general of Guangdong Government, the former Director-General of The Department of Personnel of Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the first lecture.
In his keynote speech titled ‘The Chance and Challenge of Guangdong-Europe Economic Cooperation’, Wu said the EU has been the largest trading partner of China for 11 consecutive years, and China has been the second largest trading partner of EU for 12 consecutive years. The partnership between China and Europe has never been so close before. Therefore, Guangdong Government strongly emphasized the expansion of the market and direct cooperation of Europe, launching an implementation plan and instruction paper to promote the two-side cooperation last year.
He believed the Sino-German Industrial Services Zone in Foshan will established a bridge connection between China and Europe, becoming an essential platform for China cooperating with Germany, and even Europe.
Luo Jun, deputy director general of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, said “Germany is a strong power in manufacturing, while Foshan obtains the same advantage in manufacture industry.” He said the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong chooses Foshan as the location to host the Lectures, hoping the talents and experience in manufacturing from Germany could somehow benefit the city. He reassured that the office will optimize its resource in foreign affairs to support the upcoming lectures in various way.
Lie Haijian, Vice Party Secretary of Shunde District, Foshan, said Lectures of Sino-Europe Economic Cooperation will be continued as it integrates talent resources both in China and overseas, promoting Sino-German Industrial Services Zone (Foshan) to be a platform to enhance communication between Chinese and European companies.
Lectures of Sino-Europe Economic Cooperation is located in Sino-German Industrial Services Zone (Foshan), which is one of the six essential cooperation platform promoted by Guangdong government. It’s also a cooperative project written in the Sino-German jointly announcement of stimulating both-side investment.
