On 23rd July, 2014, the Supreme Court announced eight classic cases, including two cases about refusing to pay the remuneration of the workers.

Zhejiang Yunhe Huaxia Manufactory, which was run by Mrs. Yuan and her hunsband, failed to pay the remuneration of the workers since 2011. In September, 2011, the couple went into hiding and lost contact. The local Human Resources and Social Security issued an Order, requiring the Huaxia Manufactory to pay the salary before 13th September, and meanwhile, the local court preserved the equipment in the factory. As the couple didn’t fill their obligations, the local court officially filed case for investigation on 21st September. On 8th October, Mrs. Yuan appeared in the court and confirmed the detained remuneration, totaling at more than 290,000 RMB. However, in the late of October, Mrs. Yuan went into hiding again. On 15th January, 2012, the case was transferred to Yunhe Bureau of Safety for filing criminal case. Then Mrs. Yuan voluntary surrendered to justice. Eventually Mrs. Yuan was found guilty of refusing to pay the remuneration, and was sentenced to a 1 year imprisonment and imposed on a fine of 20,000RMB.

Another case is as follow. As failing to run the business of a clothing factory in Zhejiang Huzhou, Mrs. Fu went into hiding in Anhui Hefei, Hunan Zhuzhou, with more than 10,000 RMB, and refused to pay the remuneration of the workers, which was more than 110,000 RMB. In July 2012, Mrs. Fu was arrest in Hunan Zhuzhou. Mrs. Fu was found guilty of refusing to pay the remuneration, and was sentenced to a 1 year and a half imprisonment, and imposed on a fine of 30,000 as well.
