Sixteen Israeli agricultural technopreneurs and 40 Guangdong leading agricultural enterprise representatives, scholars and experts discussed partnership and win-win development at the Guangdong-Israel Agriculture Business Match-making Event in Holiday Resort Hotel on Wednesday. The first of its kind in the province, the event aimed to set up a platform for exchange and cooperation and marked a new step forward in agricultural development, a spokesperson has announced.
Vice Mayor Liu Jiawen said that the government is working hard to develop a highly efficient, product-secure, resource effective and environmental-friendly modern characterised agriculture. He pledged that the government would provide good service and favourable work and living environments for investors from home and abroad, and boost agricultural technology cooperation.
Consul-General Sagi Karni showed admiration to the fact that China's agriculture feeds over 1.3 billion people. He hoped that both parties would reinforce agricultural cooperation and achieve a win-win situation in line with the common goal of food safety and development of modern agriculture.
Aside from drip irrigation, wastewater treatment, high-density aquaculture, agricultural biotechnology, IT technology application and other world-advanced technologies from Israel will play major roles in the partnership, the spokesperson asserted.
The event was co-hosted by the Guangdong Department of Agriculture and Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou.
