Sudirman Cup (also known as World Badminton Mixed Team Championship) started from 1989, and it is one of the three major Badminton Team Events hosted by International Badminton Federation and enjoys the same reputation as Thomas Cup and Uber Cup.

The badminton school named after national team head coach Li Yongbo is the first one of its kind in China and is equipped according to the World Badminton Federation standard.
Occupies a land of 33000 square meters, it has two international standard badminton courts and 28 professional training sites as well as a hotel to accommodate athletes and visitors.

Near the photo wall of world champions, a thin old man in red and yellow sport suit caught everyone’s sight. The man is Tang Xianhu, a life honorable adviser of China national badminton team who now works as the schoolmaster and head coach of Li Yongbo Badminton School.
He introduced to media that the school has two kinds of courses currently: one is full time training for those who want to be badminton professional; the other is “class for interest”, in which the training intensity is obviously lower than the professional class.
As Tang is a legendary badminton player, journalist wanted to get some insights out of his month. Spanish journalist, Rafael Canas, wanted Tang to comment on the Spanish national team. Tang praised Carolina Marín Martin for her fast reaction and good performance. In answering Malaysian media’s question, Tang express high comment on famous Malay player Li Zongwei—“I would like to see him in the game since it could make the game more exiting.” When asked about what is the secret of China national team, Tang showed his humor answering: “I have no idea because I am no longer in the team any more.”
Devoting his life in badminton, Tang keeps promoting the sport. When asked by media from China’s traditional counterpart Malaysia, he also expressed the wish for more international exchanges.
