2nd phase of the 135th Canton Fair concluded, overseas buyers up 22.1%

The second phase of the 135th Canton Fair concluded in Guangzhou on April 27. Despite the extreme weather, such as continuous heavy rain, overseas exhibitors and buyers still showed great enthusiasm for participating in the fair.

As of April 27, a total of 191,928 overseas buyers from 214 countries and regions attended the fair, an increase of 22.1 percent over the same period of the previous session. Among them, 124,342 buyers came from BRI partner countries, accounting for 64.8 percent; 46,663 buyers came from other RCEP countries, accounting for 24.3 percent; and 38,864 European and American buyers ,accounting for 20.2 percent.

There were 9,820 enterprises participating in the offline fair in the second phase of the 135th Canton Fair. And these enterprises paid more attention to upgrading traditional industries with new technologies in order to bring more new and green products.

As of April 27, the Canton Fair held 216 Trade Bridge activities to precisely connect supply and procurement, helping exhibitors expand foreign trade channels, and improve the procurement efficiency of buyers. 201 of those activities recommended 1,000 suppliers to conduct one-on-one trade connections with 340 buyers, with the intended purchase amount reaching nearly 250 million USD. At the same time, 66 Canton Fair New Collections were also held during the second phase of the 135th Canton Fair.

The third phase of the fair will be held from May 1 to May 5, with the theme of "better life", focusing on 21 exhibition areas in five major sectors, including toys, mother and baby products, fashion, home textiles, stationery, health and leisure. It will feature 11,495 offline exhibitors, including 262 import exhibitors from 29 countries and regions.
