However, rarely known by others, Jorge Koochai is also the first Chinese player in the World Cup. In 1930, the first World Cup in Uruguay, he played for Peru, as the only and the first Asian people in this World Cup.

Jorge Koochai was borned in a Chinese-Peruvian family in 1900. His Chinese father was a baker who migrated from Guangdong Province. Football almost accompanies Jorge's lifetime. He enjoyed playing football with his brother when he was a child. In the year of 16, he began his football career in Jose Galvez Chimbote, a champion team of Peruvian league. Before the second season, he by coincidence joined Lima Alianza, the rival team of Jose Galvez Chimbot. Lima Alianza was founded to union poor immigrants who like football.

In Lima Alianza, he started a new chapter on his football career. During 14 years with Lima Alianza, he helped the team win 9 champions and scored 56 points in 137 matches, becoming one of the greatest shooters in the history. Lima Alianza also experienced the most glorious time——six champions and one runner-up during seven seasons, establishing a record that hasn't been broken by now.

Life after retirement was quite calm, he did some small business with his friends. As a descendent of Chinese, he also liked playing with delicate Chinese handcrafts.

Jorge Koochai died young in the years of 56 in a medical negligence. But people still remember him as a excellent player and modest Chinese. Lima city, Chinese and Asian people are all proud of him. In some way, he represented the hardworking and struggling spirits of Chinese immigrants.
