A total of 6000 power grid workers are now repairing the electricity transmission lines in Shaoguan city in north Guangdong, which bring power to the province from central Hunan and southwestern Guizhou Provinces.
The transmission lines in Shaoguan are expected to resume operation before Feb. 29, and Guangdong Power Grid promised to fully restore the grid in the snow-stricken north Guangdong before March 5.
The weather in north Guangdong turned better, but temperature is still under 0 degree.
The snow havoc, worst in five decades, has blocked 451 equipment circuitries and more than 5000 towers and poles of transmission line collapsed, and the direct economic losses of the province may exceed 1 billion RMB. Power grid in Shaoguan and Qingyuan are severely damaged.
