The world famous documentary series The Blue Planet is a joint production from BBC and Discovery channel featuring awesome soundtrack music composed by composer George Fenton that enhances the scenes with life and character. The music in The Blue Planet goes so well with the visual presentation that it creates a grand soundscape that's compelling to audiences around the globe and has won the Emmy Award and British Academy Award. At times you hear mystical sound from the ocean, at times you hear the wonder of life beyond explanation. The series was shot in duration of 5 years on locations across all seven continents. It brings the wonders of the world in front of our eyes, saving the travel cost.

Now it just gets better! Step away from the TV and hear the music in live performance! Accompanied by scenes projected on giant screen, you will experience the beauty of our planet expressed by the entire symphony orchestra. Whilst highly entertaining, this concert is eventually about an important message. By witnessing the wonders of the oceans we can better understand how to protect them. It is a message that we can’t miss or ignore.

About the composer

George Fenton began composing for films and TV-series in the early 1970s, one of his early works was the score in The Jewel in the Crown. Over the years, Fenton composed for countless films of various genre, and his film scores have been nominated for five Oscars: Ghandi, Dangerous Liaisons, Cry Freedom (Best Song and Best Score) and The Fisher King and three Golden Globes: Cry Freedom, and Anna and The King (Best Song and Best Score). He is known for recreating the story atmosphere precisely with music, be it oriental traditional style or war scenes, legendary epic, you can hear it in his perfect arrangement for the occasion.

Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra

Established in 1982, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra has grown into one of the best professional orchestras in China. Ever since 1987, the orchestra has been touring around China giving performances every year, having visited Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau several times, and has visited Europe at invitation. Their performances in Guangzhou Opera House Grand Opera Productions Madama Butterfly (2012), Turandot and La Traviata (2013), with conductor Daniel Oren, highly praised by the press and audience.
