"I want you to bear in mind a very important statistic, which is that 12% of the world's population lives in the West, and 88% of the world's population lives outside the West. How the 12% view China is not how the 88% view China," said Kishore Mahbubani, former Singaporean ambassador to the UN and distinguished fellow at Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore, during a recent discussion on the US-China relationship and how it impacts global trends.
The discussion was hosted by the Asia Society Policy Institute, in partnership with Perry World House at the University of Pennsylvania.
