The heatwave-and-thunderstorms weather pattern that has been gripping Guangdong is forecast to continue this week. Some cities are expected to see highs of about 35℃, according to Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.

On August 15, Shaoguan, Qingyuan and Zhaoqing will be cloudy with overcast periods and localized heavy rain. The remaining areas will be sunny to cloudy with thundershowers. The maximum temperatures in some cities and counties will hit 36℃.

On August 16, there will be cloudy skies to thundershowers in North Guangdong. The highs will stay around 34℃ to 36℃.

On August 17, the central-eastern Pearl River Delta and East Guangdong will be cloudy to overcast, accompanied by strong thundershowers and torrential rain. The western Pearl River Delta and West Guangdong will see highs between 33℃ to 35℃.

According to the National Meteorological Center, Dora, the eighth typhoon of the year, has entered the northwest Pacific Ocean. Dora is expected to gradually weaken and disappear on the sea surface. And Lan, the seventh one, is moving forward to the southern coast of Japan. Neither of them is predicted to affect China.
