Soon you can get to PRD major cities from Baiyun Airport within ONE HOUR!

Transportation from the Baiyun airport will be more convenient in future. Soon you can get to cities as Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Dongguan within one hour, and major cities of neighboring provinces as Wuhan, Xiamen and Changsha within three hours.

Attributing to the recent approval of its latest development plan, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will improve its inner-city and intercity transport networks.

But how exactly they will do to make changes? Let’s get some insight:

Two expressways will connect the airport with the CBD of Guangzhou in future, according to the plan.

The Airport Expressway is now the only expressway to commute between Baiyun airport and the city. To improve its traffic situation, the Airport Expressway will further separate from the urban transportation and reclaim its special function.

To ease the congestion of the Airport Expressway, the Second Airport Expressway is now being built and expected to open in 2019. The new expressway will benefit people who start their journeys from Baiyun, Huadu, Haizhu and Tianhe districts.

Three railways, including the Metro Line 3, Line 18 and the Guangzhou-Foshan urban rail, will link the airport with the CBD as well. According to the plan, the Metro Line 18 will go through the Nansha district.

As the transport networks improved, you would be able to transfer from Baiyun airport to Pazhou Exhibition Center and Guangzhou Railway Station within 20 minutes, and to the CBD, Tianhe district, within 30 minutes.

Three urban rails will directly connect Baiyun airport with major cities in the Pearl River Delta in future. With the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen, Guangzhou-Foshan and Guangzhou-Qingyuan urban rails, an one-hour commuting circle will be formed among Foshan, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Qingyuan.

Besides, expressways will also be built to facilitate the intercity transportation.

As shown in the picture, Guangzhou will strengthen the transport networks among the city’s international shipping hub, technological innovation hub and aviation hub. The international shipping hub refers to the Guangzhou Port and the Nansha Free Trade Zone, while the international technological innovation hub refers to the high-tech industrial clusters in the city.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is one of the top 3 international airports in China and the busiest airport in Asia. According to the plan, the passenger volume of Baiyun airport will exceed 100 million by 2030.
