The League of Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestras, initiated by the Guangzhou Symphony Youth Orchestra, Hong Kong Youth Orchestra, and the Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra, was established in Guangzhou on October 12. This is the first youth symphony orchestra league in China, with Maestro Long Yu as its chairman.

The League has attracted 11 member orchestras at present. "The League will nurture cross-regional musical talent, strengthen cultural exchanges, and promote cultural integration and development in the Greater Bay Area," said Leung Kin-fung, the Music Director of Hong Kong Youth Orchestra, "It will provide a platform for young people to showcase their potential and enhance their international influence."

In the future, the League will organize international youth music exchange activities in the GBA. According to Chen Zhimin, head of the Guangzhou Symphony Youth Orchestra, the orchestra, together with the Hong Kong Youth Orchestra and the Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra, will hold a concert in Guangzhou at the end of 2023 or early 2024. Some representatives of other member orchestras will be invited to join the concert as well.
