At the launching ceremony, novelist and playwright Mai Jia, the author of Decoded, and Chen Xiaoming, a professor at Peking University, were appointed as co-deans. The academy also signed eight young writers and critics. These writers will complete their works with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) as the backdrop, and take part in local activities such as local field research and seminars.

Meanwhile, the academy will organize reading and writing activities for teenagers, such as on-campus writers' gatherings and essay contests. It will also carry out a series of activities for the public in the fields of reading, literary appreciation, cultural and creative exchanges, cultural research, and studies.
