After a 7-round competition, Zeng Wenhui, a skateboarding player from Guangdong's Zhaoqing, won the silver medal in women's street at the Hangzhou Qiantang Roller Center of the 19th Asian Games on September 27.
Zeng Wenhui, 18, was in 4th place at the Jakarta Asian Games 5 years ago and in 6th place at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
"It is a pity that I cannot reach the goal," said Zeng.
According to the rule, the skateboarding of women's street consists of two parts: Run (2 rounds) and Trick (5 rounds). Players begin by performing two 45-second runs, and the best score will be carried over to the overall result. In the Trick part, players have five attempts to perform their best tricks.
Zeng temporarily ranked first place after finishing the Run part with 73 points. However, she made mistakes in the first three rounds at the Trick part without any scores.
She failed her last attempt and missed the championship, although she made two successful tricks in the third and fourth rounds. At last, she ranked in second place by winning 236.61 points.
"I felt nervous at the beginning, but after that, I got relief from the pressure and did two successful tricks," said Zeng.
She told GDToday that her skills and tricks have improved compared to the Tokyo Olympics. She will focus on the qualification for the Paris Olympics in the next stage.
"Hopefully, I can get the ticket to Paris," she added.
Cui Chenxi, another Chinese player won the gold medal.
