CHINA Southern Airlines will open a direct flight from Shenzhen to Jakarta, Indonesia, starting Sept. 21, the airline’s Shenzhen branch said.
The flight, CZ8353, will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. It will depart from Shenzhen at 7:45 p.m. and arrive in Jakarta at 11:20 p.m. The return flight, CZ8354, will leave at 12:20 a.m. and arrive in Shenzhen at 6 a.m. (All times CST).
During the first week of operation, a round trip between Shenzhen and Jakarta will cost 1,150 yuan (US$173) (before taxes and fees).
China Southern’s Shenzhen branch now operates 11 international routes (including routes to Taiwan) from Shenzhen. Statistics from Shenzhen International Airport showed that turnover of international passengers in Shenzhen reached 1 million in the first six months of the year, an increase of 33.9 percent over the same period last year. The Shenzhen airport has opened five international routes so far this year covering Europe, the U.S. and Australia.
