A 90-year-old overseas Hakka Chinese once said, “All sorts of delicacies I have had cannot compare with the Hakka dishes in my hometown.” It is the charm of Hakka cuisine, a spring flowing in Hakka people’s heart.

Hakka cuisine, along with Chaoshan cuisine and Cantonese cusine, are three major cuisines in South China’s Guangdong province. Due to people’s agrarian lifestyle, the Hakka have a savory cuisine based on the balance between meat and vegetables.
