The first Nanyue King-themed bus launched in Guangzhou

A Nanyue King-themed bus, which is jointly launched by the Guangzhou Public Transport and the Nanyue King Museum, is ready to set out on the International Museum Day (May 18). This car can't take you back to the ancient Nanyue Kingdom (204 BC-111 BC), but it will bring you memorable historical knowledge and a wonderful journey. The bus will run until June 18.

The roof of the bus adopts the elements of red sandstone on the exterior wall of the Nanyue King Museum buildings. And the body of the bus is printed with images of some treasures in the museum. (Photo provided to Newsgd.com)

The theme bus is adapted from a No. 108 bus, which departs from Dongshan Terminal (东山总站) and arrives at Nanyue Huayuan Station (南悦花苑站). It will pass through the heartland of ancient Guangzhou and some historical sites, including Dongshankou (东山口), Martyrs' Park (烈士陵园), Dadong Gate (大东门), Peasant Movement Institute (农讲所), and Sanyuanli (三元里). The bus connects two vital archaeological sites of Nanyue Kingdom—the Palace of Nanyue Kongdom and the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King.

In the bus, there will be placed a special "lucky bag". Passengers can get some free anti-epidemic stickers in the bag. These lovely stickers are designed based on the cultural relics collected by the museum.

The opening ceremony of the 2022 China Tourism Day (Guangzhou) will be held at the palace exhibition area of the museum on the morning of May 18. A series of cultural activities and gifts, in addition to free anti-epidemic stickers, are waiting for your visit.
