Youths to promote China-South Korean friendly exchanges on SNS

"I hope the activity—SNS China-South Korea Friendship Messenger—will strengthen the friendly relations between South Korea and Guangdong, and promote more exchanges between our two peoples," said Han Jae Heuk, Consul General of South Korea in Guangzhou, at an opening ceremony of the first SNS China-Korea Friendship Messenger held in Guangzhou on May 17.

Han stated that, 2022 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea and is also the China-South Korea Cultural Exchange Year.

"Over the past 30 years, South Korea and China, especially Guangdong province, have achieved fruitful exchanges in the fields of economy and culture," Han added. "The trade between Guangdong and South Korea is a quarter of the total trade volume between South Korea and China, ranking first among all provinces and cities in China. Guangdong is our very important partner."

After the ceremony, a total of 16 messengers from both South Korea and five cities in Guangdong province will hold a series of cultural activities this year, involving Chinese and Korean cuisine, language acquisition, and introduction of festival customs. The events aim to encourage friendly messengers to actively communicate, eliminate misunderstandings and prejudices, and promote people-to-people bonds.
