What to expect in a tour of Nansha’s businesses?

On December 22, representatives from transnational companies, domestic enterprises and international chambers of commerce went on a tour of local tech companies and industrial parks in Guangzhou’s Nansha district, Guangdong province, in a bid to explore future investment opportunities in the region.

The tour was a side event of the 2022 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which was held on December 21, and included the visit to Cloudwalk, an artificial intelligence company, Mingzhu Science Park developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nansha Planning Exhibition Hall and Guangdong Medical Valley, an investment incubation platform specializing in medical instrument and bio-pharmaceutical industry.

Zhang Yuxin, general manager of the Enterprise Development Center at Cloudwalk, told the group that the company has received strong support from local government since its foundation, including preferential policies for business registration, office renting and talent recruiting. “Most tech companies, especially those coming to Nansha around the year of 2015, have benefited from the polices.”

Xie Jiasheng, director and executive president of Guangdong Medical Valley, noted that they attach great importance to exchanges with international counterparts and established an international innovation center for medical industries to help the enterprises in the park tap into global markets.

“Vesber, one of the companies in our park, has sold its Foldable Capsular Vitreous Body, the first of its kinds in the world aiming to treat serious eye damage, to Russia as well as countries in Europe and Australia,” said Xie.

He furthered that with the release of the “Nansha Plan” and more preferential policies on the way, they are encouraging global medical enterprises, especially those from Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions (SARs) to come to Nansha and settle in their park.
