The fifth session of 12th Guangdong Provincial Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will open in Guangzhou on January 19, and will conclude on January 21, according to a press conference held on January 11.
The fifth session will attend the fifth plenary session of the 13th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress and join the discussion on the annual work report of the Guangdong government.
Some members of CPPCC Guangdong Committee from Hong Kong and Macao cannot attend the session in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they will be invited to participate via live streaming.
The press conference also introduced the work on proposals made by Guangdong CPPCC in 2021. Over the past year, Guangdong CPPCC received 1,061 proposals, all proposals have been replied and 851 of which were finally filed.
According to the press conference, almost a half of proposals focused on the development of the Guangodng-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, modern industry system, agriculture and rural affairs.
