A traditional and impromptu Indian Chaiti Art Festival was recently staged at the Guangzhou Opera House. As one of the highlights of the 2023 Guangzhou Arts Season, the performance brought local fans a wonderful evening of exotic melodies.
Priyasha Sharma, an Indian student at Shenzhen University, enjoyed the entire concert and raved that she seemed to have experienced an enthralling "spiritual yoga".
In 2013, the Shanghai-based Chaiti Arts Foundation initiated and organized the Chaiti Indian Classical Music and Art Festival. Over the years, it has invited plenty of heavyweight Indian artists to perform wonderful music for Chinese audiences.
This year's recital in Guangzhou was presented by two of India's finest flautists, Rakesh Chaurasia and Rupak Malhar Kulkarni. Joining them were two exceptionally talented percussionists, Arkodeep Das and Rishabh Dhar, who added their magic to the performances.
