Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni here on Monday.
Xi said, China's commitment to valuing and developing relations with Italy has not changed, the nature of win-win cooperation of China-Italy relations has not changed, and the friendship between the two peoples has not changed.
The two sides issued a three-year action plan to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership, supporting cooperation in trade and investment, electric vehicles, green development, culture, etc.
What messages does Meloni’s visit send? And what challenges and opportunities exist in current China-Italy relations? GDToday spoke with Francesco Maringiò, President of the Italy-China Association for the Promotion of the Silk Road, for some insights.
