Do visit Guangdong during this year’s Spring Festival holiday, and admire the beauty of its eternal spring.
The Spring beauty is hidden in the mountains.
Mountains occupy nearly half of the land of Guangdong. As the saying goes, “the inferior recluse hides away in the wild; the superior, crowd.” Each of these mountains is unique in its own way. However, they remain somewhat obscure.
The mountains are silent witness to Mother Nature’s nourishing attribute: sunrise, sunset, and the fast-moving clouds. They are as low-key and inclusive as Guangdong locals.
In a way, these mountains are forever young, and will always remain lush in the years to come.
The Spring beauty is hidden in the sea. Guangdong has the longest coastline in the country (3,300 kilometers), with 1,963 islands and numerous bays.
One can sit quietly and savor the moment when the sky and sea are merged as one. People can listen to the whisper of winds, ride waves, and feel the unbroken continuity of life.
Some seas are quiet and smooth, while others are rough, but all seas are full of vitality.
The Spring beauty is hidden in local people’s daily life.
Guangdong is well known for its diverse geomorphic environment, which gives birth to a unique Lingnan culture. Amid mountains and seas, there are three ethnic groups: Cantonese, Hakka, and Chaoshan.
Many authentic local customs and traditions are well preserved. With the music of gong and drum, people can feel the heroic spirit. People express their passions for life through fire dragon dancing. Pageant on immortals reflects local people’s warmth and hospitality.
Thanks to the generous blessing from the mountains and seas, a lovely melody is played.
Do visit Guangdong during this year’s Spring Festival holiday and admire the beauty of its eternal spring. And wish you a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year!
