Guangdong tech entrepreneurs held press conference during "two sessions"

A press conference was held on Saturday during China's annual "Two Sessions," where executives from XPeng, Topstar, and Brunp Recycling took questions from both domestic and international journalists.

Topics related to robotics were the most discussed at the conference, with a particular focus on Guangdong's Seven Robotic Titans.

Currently, the well-known robotic titans in Guangdong are referred to as the "Seven Musketeers." He Xiaopeng, Chairman of XPeng, told reporters that he believes there will be "Seventy Musketeers" or even "Seven Hundred Musketeers" in the coming years.

There were also questions from the press about whether such robots can be widely applied, given the currently limited application scenarios.

Wu Fengli, President of Guangdong Topstar Technology, addressed this concern at the conference.

"Industrial robots are currently the only type of robots globally that are profitable, particularly in industrial settings," Wu continued. "Only when robots are continuously trained within a closed environment can they grow smarter and eventually enter households."

Chinese electric vehicles face difficulties entering the European market due to the high tariffs imposed by the EU. XPeng is one of the leading Chinese companies that have been selling EVs in this market.

When asked about the EU's tariffs on Chinese EVs, He Xiaopeng told reporters that the company is not concerned about the EU's policies.

"We had pretty good sales in Europe last year," he said, adding "We believe we can win over customers with our high-quality products." XPeng also hopes to enter the US market in the future.
