On the 8th of the fourth lunar month, in Changzhou Village, Xiqu, Zhongshan, the Drunken Dragon Dance parade draws crowds and leaves the streets empty. Meanwhile, 60 kilometers away in Macao, the same Drunken Dragon Dance is performed wonderfully, as if in a parallel universe.
The Drunken Dragon Dance in Zhongshan and Feast of the Drunken Dragon in Macao were both recognized as national "intangible cultural heritage". The story of how this folklore was passed down in two places has been much talked about.
Passing on from generation to generation, nowadays, the Drunken Dragon Dance has been introduced into primary and secondary schools, where it is welcomed by students.
