It's the Year of the Snake. Guangdong is rolling out tons of New Year celebrations this year. For people who want to spend the Chinese New Year in Guangdong, it might be a little difficult to decide their destination, due to the abundant activities across the region.
Vanhpheng Saisomphou, Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Guangzhou, revealed her choice for GDToday's audiences. "I invite you to come to Guangdong. I do hope you will like it, because this time we can see many markets with a lot of beautiful flowers," she said, "and there are different species of flowers; every species of flowers also has a different meaning."
Flower markets are one of the top choices for many other consuls general in Guangzhou as well.
Ben Perkasa Drajat, Consul General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, shared that the flower market at Beijing Road, Guangzhou, might be an option to enjoy the city during the Spring Festival break. "One of the biggest flower markets in Guangzhou is in Beijing Lu, or the Beijing Road. People can also enjoy beautiful ornaments of Chinese New Year on the Entrance Archway," he said. "Also, people can enjoy the classic intangible cultural elements presented nearby."
"I especially recommend visiting the flower markets, which are spectacular and very enjoyable to walk through," said Wim Peeters, Consul General of Belgium in Guangzhou, who plans to spend some quality time this year at the flower markets.
