The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in South China's Guangdong Province, a transportation hub project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), opened to traffic at 3 pm on Sunday, June 30.
The first batch of vehicles from Zhongshan's Cuiheng East toll station drove on the ShenZhong Link at around 3 pm.
After the bridge commenced operations, the ride time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan has been shortened from 2 hours to just around 30 minutes. This has greatly enhanced the connectivity and efficiency of the national highway network and transportation system in the GBA.
A Guangdong-Hong Kong shuttle bus departing from Zhongshan was one of the first vehicles to board the ShenZhong Link. Through the Link, the bus journey from Zhongshan to Hong Kong was shortened from more than 3 hours to about 1.5 hours.
The bridge marks a significant road improvement in connecting not only the GBA cities, but the entirety of South China, bringing accessibility, convenience, and speed to both travelers and businesses.
