With the conclusion of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), several foreign executives and scholars shared their views on Chinese modernization with Southern Metropolis Daily and N-Video.
In their view, the third plenary session is of great significance to further comprehensively deepen reform and draw a blueprint for promoting Chinese modernization, which will provide much-needed certainty and stability to a world rocked by changes and turmoil.
Robert Lawrence Kuhn
Robert Lawrence Kuhn, who was awarded the China Reform Friendship Medal, is the Chairman of the Kuhn Foundation and a well-known American expert. He shared his understanding with Southern Metropolis Daily that the driving force of Chinese modernization comes from high-quality development, and the driving force of high-quality development comes from new quality productive forces. Independent innovation is the internal source of new quality productive forces, and scientific and technological innovation is the core element of developing new quality productive forces.
BASF Zhanjiang Verbund site
Haryono Lim, Senior Vice President of New Verbund Site China of BASF and General Manager of BASF Integrated Site (Guangdong) Co. Ltd, told Southern Metropolis Daily that the Verbund Technology Center, which was inaugurated at the Zhanjiang Verbund site on February 29, will gather a global innovation team of experts and engineers with different specialties to focus on the research and development of integrated process optimization, digitalization, and sustainable development solutions.
Jean-Christophe Pointeau, President of Pfizer China, said it was China's encouragement of innovation and a series of favorable policies for the innovative drug market that allowed Pfizer to constantly accelerate the pace of innovation. As a supplier of energy efficiency solutions, Danfoss has paid attention to the Chinese market for a long time, especially the development prospects of the green industry. Xu Yang, President of Danfoss China, pointed out to the Southern Metropolis Daily that Danfoss has continued to invest in China, contributing to the green development of all walks of life in China.

Anthony Moretti, Associate Professor at the Department of Communication and Organizational Leadership at Robert Morris University, agreed that the reason why China is a global leader in the new energy industry is to focus on long-term goals.
