On May 1st, the 135th Canton Fair Phase III opened. The fair's third phase, themed "A Better Life", focuses on showcasing five major sectors, including toys, pregnancy and baby items, fashion, household textiles, stationery, and health and leisure. Julie, a student from the Solomon Islands and now studying in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, was invited by the "I See China" project of Yangchen Evening News to serve as a "China Explorer." She tried the food, drinks, and enjoyable activities at this phase of the Canton Fair.
The third phase of the Canton Fair still holds great appeal. Early on May 1st, the venue was packed with people, and buyers from all over the world hurriedly walked between booths. Julie, attending the Canton Fair for the first time, exclaimed upon entering, "It's so huge, and there are so many people! If you really want to explore, it feels like you can't finish in just a few days."
Entering the fashion exhibition area, she was dazzled by a variety of clothing and accessories, and it was like shopping in a mall. Julie quickly spotted a knitted suit at one booth and told reporters, "The fabric feels very good, and it seems comfortable to wear." The person in charge of the booth introduced to Julie that the company mainly produces sweaters and has been participating in the Canton Fair since 1991. "We mainly export sweaters to Europe and the United States, and supply FMCG brands like Zara and H&M."
Julie told reporters that in her hometown, there has not been widespread adoption of a local online shopping platform yet. "If we want to buy clothes, we mostly go to physical stores. After coming to China, I often use Taobao, which is very convenient."
In the health and leisure exhibition area, Julie lingered because she found the product she most wanted to take home here - a massage chair. The booth attendant helped Julie turn on the switch, and the massage chair slowly reclined and began to operate. According to the introduction, this new massage chair not only has basic full-body massage functions but also uses new back massage technology to better help users relax their back muscles. After the trial, Julie said, "If I could have one at home, that would be great! Coming home after a day of classes and having a massage, it's just so comfortable."
Apart from fashion and health & leisure, the most attractive part of Phase III of the Canton Fair is undoubtedly the food exhibition area. In an area where many candy companies are gathered, each booth is decorated in colorful and fun ways. In front of a booth of a Shenzhen gummy candy company, there was even a "castle" built with gummy candies, attracting many passing buyers to stop and take photos. The booth attendant introduced that the company is a pioneer in domestic 4D gummy candies. Its brand of gummy candies is sold worldwide, and it has established subsidiaries and warehouses in the United States. After trying the gummy candies, Julie couldn't help but give a thumbs up: "Delicious!"
As Julie said, half a day is not enough to fully appreciate the charm of the Canton Fair, but the enthusiasm of the exhibitors and the delicious, fun, and useful exhibits have left a deep impression on her: "I can only use 'WOW' to describe the Canton Fair. Although it's huge, the categories are clear, and everyone can find what they're looking for here. Today's trip to the Canton Fair has gathered the characteristics of 'eating, drinking, playing, and enjoying,' allowing me to experience the beauty of life."
