Guangdong adopts new technology to solve imbalance of medical resources: Deputy to the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress

Guangdong Governor Wang Weizhong delivered the Government Work Report at the opening ceremony of the third session of the 14th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress which kicked off in Guangzhou on January 15, 2025.

Wang mentioned that it is estimated that the GDP of Guangdong in 2024 will hit a new level and reach 14 trillion yuan, ranking first in the country for 36 consecutive years. Furthermore, Guangdong's foreign trade volume has reached 9 trillion yuan, a 9.8% increase and topped China for 39 consecutive years, which contributed 38.7% of the country's trade increase.

Before the opening ceremony, Zhang Nu, Deputy to Guangdong Provincial Congress, as well as Deputy Director of the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University indicated that Guangdong has adopted new technology to solve the imbalance of medical resources.

"Gaozhou is 400 kilometers away from Guangzhou, if local cancer patients go to Guangzhou for treatment, the cost of transportation, accommodation and care is very high." said she.
