Team China gears up for WorldSkills Lyon 2024

The 47th WorldSkills Competition is set to take place in Lyon, France, on September 10th, and Team China is ready to make its mark on the global stage. This year, China will send its largest delegation, with 68 competitors participating in all 59 skill competitions. Among them, 27 competitors from Guangdong will showcase their skills in 23 different events, aiming to bring home the gold.

This is China's seventh time to participate in the WorldSkills Competition, and the enthusiasm is higher than ever. The Chinese competitors are full of confidence, determined to demonstrate their skill excellence, and represent their country with pride.

Cai Lixun, a Mobile Application Development expert, expressed optimism about the team's preparation. "We are confident in our overall training and knowledge preparation," said Cai. "This time, we are aiming for the gold medal."

The road to WorldSkills Lyon has been paved with hard work and dedication. Competitors like Zhan Xianda, who will participate in the Manufacturing Team Challenge, have been rigorously preparing for years. "The event organizer gave us a framework for the competition about a year in advance," Zhan explained. "We only found out a year ago that this year we'd be building an electric tricycle. However, the specific scoring criteria were not initially revealed, so we had to start building and adjust as more requirements were announced."

To ensure they are fully prepared, competitors have been incorporating unexpected challenges into their training. "During our regular training, we intentionally include these challenges because they give us a general direction of what might be changed," Zhan Xianda added. "Every time we simulate a test, we incorporate those requirements into our practice."

As the competition draws near, the competitors are encouraged to approach it with a calm mindset and to perform to the best of their abilities. With determination and thorough preparation, Team China is set to leave a lasting impression at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, showcasing the nation's rising skill levels on a global stage.
