Guangdong Governor Wang Weizhong delivered the Government Work Report at the opening ceremony of the third session of the 14th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress which kicked off in Guangzhou on January 15, 2025.
Wang mentioned that it is estimated that the GDP of Guangdong in 2024 will hit a new level and reach 14 trillion yuan, ranking first in the country for 36 consecutive years. Furthermore, Guangdong's foreign trade volume has reached 9 trillion yuan, a 9.8% increase and topped China for 39 consecutive years, which contributed 38.7% of the country's trade increase.
Before the opening ceremony, Hua Xuehui, Deputy to Guangdong Provincial Congress, as well as Deputy Director of school of Automotive engineering, Foshan Polytechnic indicated that Guangdong has 93 higher vocational colleges and 5 undergraduate level vocational education institutes and nearly 8 million skilled talents have been delivered to society.
"One of our graduates is working at a new energy battery manufacturing company in Foshan. He led the team to complete the connection between 100 thousand sensors and intelligent manufacturing system, increasing the company's production profit by 5%," said she.
