From May 30 to 31, a delegation comprising ten media representatives from Uzbekistan made their way to Zhuhai, the second stop of their trip in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The delegation paid an on-site visit to the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and the Cross-Border E-commerce and Live Streaming Base (Hufa) Innovation Industrial Park in Hengqin, as well as Gree Group, a flagship home appliance manufacturer in Zhuhai.
During the visit to Gree Group headquarters, Juraeva Barchinoy, a media representative from the delegation, spoke of her familiarity with the brand. "It is a well-known brand back in Uzbekistan," said Juraeva. "Gree has a strong presence in our home appliance market, such as its air conditioner and tap."
As someone who often wears glasses, she was pleasantly surprised to try out an ultrasonic cleaning machine at Gree. "I just got my eyeglasses cleaned up. I really like this appliance here. It is a perfect design for those wearing glasses," she commented.
She hopes that more new Chinese-designed home appliances can enter the Uzbek market and help improve the quality of life there.
Apripov Rustam, another senior journalist from Uzbekistan, told us that the urban construction he saw in Hengqin was far beyond his expectations. "I have heard of Hengqin before but have never pictured it," he told GDToday.
"It has only been 15 years, which is not a long time. It's amazing how Hengqin has done such a great job," said Rustam.
He was even more surprised to find out that there are no power poles on the roads in Hengqin. Instead, an underground utility tunnel, with a total length of 33.4 kilometers, serves as an integrated solution for water, power supplies, communication, and so on.
Up next, the delegation will head to Shenzhen for more exciting discoveries in the GBA.
