The 2024 AI Competition of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin & Macao International Invitational officially kicked off on August 20 at Pui Ching Middle School in Macao. The event has attracted 426 participants from 120 schools and institutions across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and countries such as Singapore, Japan, Portugal, and Malaysia.
The event aims to provide an international, high-level platform for youth from China and other countries and regions to exchange ideas, showcase their skills, and enhance their scientific literacy and hands-on abilities, thereby deepening technological and cultural exchange.
The Hengqin AI Competition has been held for five consecutive years, growing in social influence with each edition. The international invitational takes place in Macao this August, with the finals scheduled for November at the Zhuhai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Regional selection processes are currently underway.

This year's competition features events such as 3D digital programming, AI operational challenges, and robotics design and engineering. The events are categorized by age groups, covering students from elementary to middle schools. The competition also includes simulations of real-world scenarios like smart agriculture and machinery parameter adjustments, offering a dynamic assessment of participants' AI knowledge and problem-solving skills.
