"Any system must remain vigilant in adapting to the changing times. China's reforms are not about creating something entirely new, but about aligning with the evolving needs of the era, with the goal of advancing China and benefiting its people," said Sorasak Pan, a member of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and former Cambodian Minister of Commerce, in a recent interview with GDToday in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, when discussing Chinese democracy.
From November 26 to 29, a delegation of parliamentarians and senior parliamentary officials from seven ASEAN countries visited Guangzhou, a major city in southern China. The visit was part of a 10-day tour across the country, which also included stops in Beijing and Nanning in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The delegation sought to gain firsthand insights into China's modernization efforts and governance practices.
What were their impressions of China and its governance? How do they view the cooperation between China and their countries? And what is the future of bilateral collaboration, especially in light of current global developments? GDToday spoke with Sorasak Pan to gain his perspective.
