"Kids, tell the world" Studio in Greater Bay Area established in Guangzhou

On April 21, the 2024 World Children Development Forum Series of Exchange activities opened at the Guangdong Science Center in Guangzhou. At the opening ceremony, "Kids, tell the world" Studio in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was established.

The studio is a collaboration between the National Youth Work Commission Office of China, Guangdong Provincial Youth Work Commission, and Nanfang Media Group. With the support of the international media GDToday of Nanfang Media Group, the Global Workshop serves as a platform to show the talents of Chinese children to the world, a bridge to connect the Greater Bay Area with children around the world, and also a stage for children and young people in the Greater Bay Area to share China's stories with the world.

"Young people can have the spirit of friendship and love to work together through common stories. This is the most beautiful thing. We need more science communication than ever before, and that only then we can have a brighter shared future for everyone," said Prof. Shahbaz Khan, Director of UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia, "And I really commended the media in Guangzhou and to take such an initiative for young people to share their ideas through videos, through communications. We need more science, communication, more communication than ever before."

"It's a very significant initiative. We got lots of like kind of initiatives. And that is very important that children could share the meanings and thoughts between them beyond the countries," said Alekser Ezhov, a delegate from Russia, "We have a 'pioneers' platform in Russia. We made it last year. And I think that we could connect your platform with pioneers platform, for children connections."

"I want to visit the studio and then I will think what I will do. I have a lot of projects. And I will present them all," said Aleksandr, a teenager from Russia.

GDToday, a media organization under the Nanfang Media Group, is dedicated to international communication. As the main platform for Guangdong's external communication and the primary window for the rest of the world to understand Guangdong, GDToday has a multilingual news website, an English APP, and various overseas online social platforms. It has amassed more than 20 million subscribers globally and has organized more than 40 youth exchange events around the world, including online and offline salons, forums, and concerts.

As part of the plan, "Kids, tell the world" Studio will set up dedicated channels on the GDToday English website and APP, publish a series of reports, and organize exchange activities for young people in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and abroad.
