Int'l visitors: We are connected for Marco Polo, for art, for everything

May 4 marked the closure of the "An Encounter with Macro Polo" Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition at the Guangzhou Opera House.

This two-day event, which was open to audiences of the opera "Marco Polo" during its revival, drew in more than 1,000 attendees from nearly 30 countries and regions.

The exhibition showcased over 30 works of Guangzhou painted porcelain, Guangzhou embroidery, other antiques featuring some classic themes of traditional Chinese art, and contemporary masterpieces. Businessman Alexander Tomov was impressed by an antique business name card holder, while Italian visitor Enrica Zini was attracted by a pair of earrings adorned with lychee motifs made by the Guangzhou Embroidery technique.

"I like it (the exhibition) very much," Zini remarked, "I think it represented the essence of China and China's culture."

"I'm so grateful that tonight we have a wonderful opera in this amazing location, with amazing pieces of art," said Elena Donati, another viewer from Italy, "We are connected for Marco Polo, for art, for everything."
