"Hengqin has taken on a new look year by year. Today's Hengqin is like a seed. It has germinated and is growing fast," said Su Shaolan, a native citizen of Hengqin.
Hengqin has rapidly evolved from an isolated island into a modern island with better accessibility. She said, "I have seen an improvement in the standard of living, including the addition of various recreational facilities in the community, like Central Street and Ponto Legend."
Su Shaolan enjoys Hengqin's recreational places the most after retiring. She loves to stroll around with her friends whenever she has free time. Hengqin Mangzhou Wetland Park is their favorite locale. "The air there is so good," she said.
Su and her besties have observed that changes have taken place every year. "In less than two years, there will be a landmark building," she said. "As Hengqin continues to develop, more job opportunities will be created for the residents."
"I think Hengqin is now like a seed that has sprouted, and we warmly welcome more people to work and live in Hengqin," she added.
