A delegation from Lincoln High School and Steilacoom High School in Washington, the United States, visited China from March 17-27. From March 23 to 26, they visited Guangdong Province after traveling to Beijing and Hubei Province.
The tour is part of a program promoting youth communication and exchanges between the two countries. Chinese President Xi Jinping, during his trip to the United States in November 2023, announced the program to invite 50,000 American youths to China in the next five years for exchanges and study.
The delegation visited Guangzhou on March 23-24.
During the trip to Guangzhou on March 23-24, they visited Jinan University, Yongqingfang, Guangdong Guangya High School, and Guangzhou Zhixin High School. They experienced traditional Chinese culture, like calligraphy and paper cuttings.
The delegation visited Shenzhen on March 25.
On March 25, the delegation visited Guangdong Neilingding Futian National Nature Reserve and the "Sky Mirror" at Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base to feel the natural and urban beauty of Shenzhen.
The US students also made friends with students in Shenzhen Nanshan Foreign Language School through the trip to the city. They were warmly welcomed at the school and played games, had cultural exchanges as well as tasted the flavor of Chinese cuisine together.
On the morning of March 27, the delegation finished their Guangdong trip and departed from Shenzhen Airport to Beijing.
