"Qianhai was special for me, because it's a multicultural area. In Shekou, you can find restaurants, shops, and people from different countries," said Gokhan Bukmus from Türkiye, owner of JoJo's Café & Souvenirs in Qianhai.
As a tour guide before, Gokhan Bukmus has traveled to many cities in China, such as Beijing, Xi’an, Wuhan, Shanghai and Chengdu. He mentioned that the multicultural and inclusive Qianhai attracted him to settle down. "Many people travel here to experience different cultures, and people here are also open to learning new cultures," he said. "So that's why I chose Qianhai."
Another reason why Gokhan Bukmus likes Qianhai is its convenient transportation. "I used to import goods, while air transportation cost me a lot. But shipment is easy, and of course it's good for seaside cities, where you can use the shipment," he explained.
Gokhan Bukmus feels that Qianhai will enjoy a promising future. "I see more people are opening new places, new restaurants, new shops, and of course (some) constructions are underway," he said.
