FSM Student Summer Camp in Zhongshan Opens

On June 21, the opening ceremony of the Federated States of Micronesia (the FSM) Student Summer Camp in Zhongshan officially opened. During the next seven days, 17 teachers and students from the FSM will explore various cultural landmarks in Zhongshan City and visit technology innovation projects in Shenzhen. They will experience the charm of Lingnan culture and local intangible cultural heritages, deeply engage with Chinese traditional crafts, and learn about China's achievements in technological innovation and green development. Additionally, young people from both FSM and Zhongshan will enhance their friendship through activities such as on-campus exchanges and martial arts interactions.

The FSM is a pearl in the Pacific Ocean, boasting a unique island culture and a rich historical tradition. Over the 36 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the FSM, Zhongshan has maintained close ties with the FSM, achieving fruitful outcomes in high-level visits, sister-city interactions, medical collaboration, sports exchanges.

The FSM Student Summer Camp in Zhongshan is organized by the Zhongshan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Micronesia-China Friendship Association, with the support of the Chinese Embassy in the Federated States of Micronesia, and carried out by Zhongshan Polytechnic. The camp aims to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries on deepening people-to-people exchanges, and further promote cultural cooperation and youth interactions between the two countries.
